My name is Adam Bagger. I direct commercials. My specialty is comedy.
Growing up in rural Connecticut, I spent most of my youth looking through a viewfinder. I graduated from Boston University with a degree in Film & Television, and promptly moved to Los Angeles. I cut my commercial teeth under Directors Speck/Gordon, working with them on several campaigns, including Geico’s acclaimed Cavemen spots. I also worked as Production Coordinator for the legendary Joe Pytka, as well as on Super Bowl campaigns for RSA and Aero Film.
I did a stint in features as well, working from greenlight through release on the $70 million Will Ferrell comedy, “Blades of Glory,” before heading to Australia to work with another first-time Director on “The Ruins” for DreamWorks. I also covered scripts for Red Hour Films, Ben Stiller’s production company, which eventually lead to a desk job in feature development at Paramount.
As a Director, I pool the experience I’ve amassed while working under commercial and feature film Directors, mix it with my own creative sensibilities, and pour it all onto the :30 canvas. The result is a quirky, laugh-out-loud style that uniquely enhances story and product benefit.
While directing, I continue honing my skills as staff Production Coordinator at Slim Pictures, a Venice-based commercial production company.
